JOB TITLE: CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER (IN A GROUP OF COMPANIES OPERATING IN THE OIL AND GAS SECTOR, WITH ONSHORE/OFFSHORE OPERATIONS) DEPARTMENT: FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS
LOCATION: ABUJA
POSITION TYPE: FULL-TIME-EMPLOYMENT
REPORTS TO: CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER/CHAIRMAN
JOB PURPOSE
•    The position is central to achieving business success through judicious use and application of financial resources: guidance in business planning and performance management and cost-effectiveness business operations
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Develops and implements effective financial strategies, controls framework and management systems to guide and support the Groups business operations,
•    Initiates and applies approved performance metrics related to the monitoring the financial health and cost-effectiveness of company operations, evidenced by the ability to provide fact-based updates to the Board and Group Executive management
•    Liaise with other line managers, providing consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analysis, reports, and recommendations,
•    Monitors the implementation of all business unit budgets in relation to actual expenditures and income, including the analysis of the quality and performance of ongoing activities in order to proactively identify potential performance problems and prepare timely financial and performance reports to the Groups executive management
•    Provides financial advice on the Groups short, medium and long term cash/funding/ risk situation to the Group CEO and Management.
•    Implements Board and Management financial policies in line with approved financial procedures and generally accepted Financial/Accounting practices and statutory requirements,
•    Coordinates the preparation of the Groups annual budgets, monitors and reports performance against targets,
•    Prepares periodic statutory and management information reports, Oversees bank and creditor relationship management.
•    Develops and implements strategies for accessing and securing funds at cost-effective rates,
•    Develops and coordinates the implementation of Finance Function performance targets and service standards via a Service Level Agreement
•    Manages foreign exchange risks and interest rate exposures and escalates issues to executive management
•    Presents monthly financial performance reports of the Group to the Executive management team,
•    Provides overall coordination and direction of all activities of the Groups Finance Function,

EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION(S)
•    Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or any finance re1ated course
•    A Masters degree in Business Administration
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION(S)
•    Relevant professional qualifications e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA).
EXPERIENCE
•    Minimum of 12years post-graduation experience with at least 8 years at senior management level
